Pollyanna

                                   I DO NOT OWN THIS.

Pollyanna is a book about a girl called Pollyanna. Her mother died when she was young, and her father, a missionary dies right before the book begins. After her father dies, she goes to live with her Aunt Polly.

Polly is a strict, rich woman. She never married though it is revealed latter in the book that she did love a doctor, but more on him later. Polly gets a letter saying that her sister's daughter is coming to stay with her. When the day comes for Pollyanna to arrive, she sends her maid Nancy to pick her up.

When Pollyanna gets to her aunt’s house, she immediately falls in love with the place. While talking about her father, aunt Polly gets annoyed and forbids her to talk about him. When Nancy is helping Pollyanna unpack, she notes that the little girl says she’s glad about everything. Latter when Pollyanna is punished for not coming to dinner on time, and has to eat supper in the kitchen with Nancy, she tells Nancy about the Glad Game she and her father played.

They started to play it when, her father told the people in charge of the missionary barrels that Pollyanna wanted a doll. When the barrel arrived all that was in it was crunches. Her father told her to find something to be glad about it. She could not find anything to be glad about until her father told her. “Just be glad you don't need them.” and since then she had played the game.

After hearing the story Nancy decides to play the game with Pollyanna, because there no way Aunt Polly would. As Pollyanna stays in the village, she makes friends with everybody, including a grumpy old man that used to love her mother, a sick old lady that’s never satisfied, a pastor struggling to preach the right message which Pollyanna helped with, and a doctor that did and still does love Aunt Polly.

After staying with her Aaunt Polly for a while, Pollyanna has a bad accident. While leaving a store, a car hits her, and according to a doctor, (not the one that loves aunt Polly), she is paralyzed for life.

When she's layed lied up, practically the whole town comes to see the child, and to tell her they are playing the game. Not knowing about the game, Aaunt Polly is confused and asked Pollyanna about it., Pollyanna is excited to tell her about it, and she does. Aafter hearing it, Aaunt Polly decalaers she will play the game.

The doctor that loves Aaunt Polly, come and examines Pollyanna, and says that there is a hospital that specializses in helping people to walk. Pollyanna is sient there. At the end of the book there is a letter to Aaunt Polly. Iin it, it says the she can walk, and that the doctor married Aaunt Polly.

All in all a very good book.
