Halloween scare.

Dear readers, I'm weighting another story with these people, but I relished it wasn't very Halloween like, even though it dose take place during Halloween. so I wrote this out, though I do plan on finishing the other story and posting it.

Halloween night; it was cold and the only light was from the moon casting shadows through the trees and showing a lone figure walking through the park.

The figure hurried as fast as she could. She pulled her coat tightly around her as the icy wind blew. She kept her head up and swiveling back and forth.

She paused for a moment when she heard a rustling coming from one of the bushes. An owl hooted. The wind blew harder. Then a loud cry sent shivers up the girl’s spine. She almost ran down the path, hurrying as fast as her heart was beating. She turned left, down closer to her home. An eerie silence followed her down the path. The wind had died down, no night animals and no cries.

The silence tore into the girl’s thoughts. She paused for a second trying to catch her breath.

A child's laugh broke the silence, first sounding from behind her, then to her left. The laugher got louder, closer. Then it went quite again.

Without a second thought the woman straight out ran through the park, until she tripped over a branch.

She slowly picked herself up and brushed off the dirt. She looked around and listened. Nothing.

“Boo!” a loud voice from behind her yelled. She screamed and turned around, but before she could register who or what had made the noise, another two voices at once shouted beside her “Boo!”. She screamed again.

Laughter erupted from the scarers. The girl bent slightly placing her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath before saying “Why earth did you do that?”

“Sorry Helen.” said the first scarer, who was the girl’s little brother Henry, “But we just couldn’t let a opportunity pass.”

A glare was thrown at him and he continued “I mean you just saw that scary movie and we knew you would take the park home from your friend’s house. Besides, it makes up for the time you and Father scared us.”
“We didn’t scare you too much did we?” asked one of the other scarers, one of Helen’s little twin sisters.

Standing up straight she answered “No you didn’t scare me too much.” she said then thinking about it she broke into a laugh. “I got scared by my little siblings. Not going to live this one down.”

Laughing the four of them walked rest of the way home.

THE END.
